Hope you enjoy this poem I wrote many years ago for my newsletter at my job. Hopefully this is the right place to post this. Here goes:
On Halloween night an old witch flies
Upon a broomstick through the skies
Black bats with big black wings
Go flop against walls and things
Children in costume shout trick or treat
While parents are usually dead on their feet
Jack-O lanterns glow and shine
With midnight approaching, so ends their time
There are gleaming ghosts dressed in white
Frightening many through the long night
Scary stories go round and round
Keeping us alert to every sound
And as the round-eyed owl cries "Who, who, who"
I must remember, I'm not scared! Are you?
